Over the three year period 2007-09 Book Aid International will continue to provide good quality books and information to our partners, and work with them to build their capacity to meet local needs. We will also increase our efforts to campaign for change. In these ways we will help to improve the quality of education, and to engage people in marginalised communities.
Our strategy is shaped around three main aims:
Access to books and information To provide a wide range of books and information resources to enhance education and learning and meet the needs of disadvantaged groups.
Local capacity building To strengthen the books and information sector within target countries so that it is better able to meet local demand from communities, and build a reading culture.
Campaigning for change To ensure national policies in target countries are committed to the principle and practice of information for all and to the development of libraries and literate environments.
To support the attainment of these goals we have several organisational objectives that we will implement to create an strong enabling framework for all our programmes.
