Book Aid International's prime focus is to enable disadvantaged people to develop their ideas, knowledge and creativity, through increasing access to a wide range of books and information resources beyond the curriculum, that enhance the ability to read critically and in depth. We are particularly concerned to target disadvantaged groups such as the rural and urban poor; women and girls; refugees; people with special needs; prison populations; and minority groups.
By supporting local initiatives and solutions, we work to ensure free and equitable access to information, which we believe is an underestimated and fundamental pillar of development.
Vision
Book Aid International's vision is of a world in which everyone has access to the information they need.
Mission
Book Aid International promotes literacy in developing countries by creating reading and learning opportunities for disadvantaged people, in order to help them realise their potential and eradicate poverty.
