Staff Fundraising
Staff fundraising provides a great way to motivate and inspire staff and to promote team work. Book Aid International offer an easy proposition to engage your staff. For every £2 they raise, we can send one book to Africa.

There are a range of ways your staff can get involved in fundraising for Book Aid International. They may choose to focus on World Book Day or International Literacy day in March and September respectively, each year.
Bring a Book to Work Week
Our leading employee involvement scheme is 'Bring a Book to Work Week'. Running since 2003 Bring a Book to Work Week aims to promote reading to employees of companies based in the UK whilst raising funds to send high quality books to people in the developing world. Taking place each autumn to mark International Literacy day on the 8th September, Bring a Book to Work Week encourages employees across the country to hold second-hand book sales to raise money and make a lasting difference to our partners across Africa.
By taking part in Bring a Book to Work Week your employees can clear out their bookshelves, pick up a bargain, and change someone's life, all in their lunch hour! For every book 'sold' and matched by your company we are able to send one brand new book to Africa.
'Books are an important resource that we often take for granted in the UK. We all have books that we no longer read, rather than let them gather dust, why not donate them to Book Aid International and give a gift of knowledge to those less fortunate overseas.' Peter Bull, Manager, HSBC in the Community.

Volunteering
As part of larger corporate partnerships Book Aid International offers volunteering opportunities for employees at our warehouse in Camberwell. This can range from stamping and packing books that are waiting to be shipped to Africa, to giving our warehouse and offices a much needed lick of paint.

Lexis Nexis volunteers |
39 eager members of the Business Services Division of LexisNexis, came to our warehouse armed with paintbrushes, paint, and cloths to give it a much needed revamp. This volunteering opportunity created a much nicer environment for our Operational team to work in and also enabled volunteers to build and strengthen relationships within their teams and beyond. Thanks to everyone at LexisNexis!
