Corporate donations, both in cash and in kind, are vital for us to deliver our work.
Book donations
Donations of brand-new book returns and overstocks enable us to provide
top-quality, up-to-date material to our overseas partners, if your company is able to donate brand new books to Book Aid International please visit our book donation pages.
Financial support
Making a cash donation is a simple and effective way to help us give the opportunity of reading to the poorest people in the world.
What your money could do:
£2 could pay to source, select and ship a brand new book to Africa
£120 could stock a mobile library in Ethiopia with 80 children’s books
£1,200 would enable us to supply 560 carefully selected books to children, young people and adults living in refugee camps in Kenya and Uganda.
£5,000 would provide 3,500 children’s books to young readers in rural Uganda
£10,000 could Transform a Library in Tanzania, funding redecoration and refurbishment, new shelving, and a new collection of 3000 books both from the UK and purchased locally
£25,000 could develop 5 Children’s Reading Corners, with children’s furniture, multi-media equipment and a new selection of books creating child-friendly spaces in 5 libraries.

Transform a library
We believe that supporting community libraries in rural areas is the best way to improve local people’s access to books. Managed by local people, community libraries are best placed to respond quickly to the needs of the community. They can make a huge contribution to education and literacy across rural sub-Saharan Africa where otherwise there would be little if any book provision. So, working with our partners we have identified 12 libraries in Kenya and Tanzania that are in desperate need of your support.

Turiani Library, Tanzania |
Case Study: Turiani Library, Tanzania
Located between Dar es Salaam and the capital city, Dodoma, the Turiani Community Library is located in a district with no public library but a great need for books. There are eight secondary schools and over 80 primary schools, very few with any books at all. For £10,000 your company could transform the Turiani Community Library providing the local community with books that have relevance to their lives, a comfortable space that they can use to read and share knowledge and training for the librarian so that they can best serve library users of all ages.
