Big hitter! The team from Orion won Book Aid International's publishers' golf day. |
On Friday 11th May, teams from across the publishing world met to take part in the inaugural Book Aid International Golf Day, which took place at Dulwich and Sydenham Hill Golf Club.
After playing a full 18 holes (and braving the odd rain shower!) teams retired to the clubhouse for a well deserved rest and delicious dinner, before the prize giving. Despite a very close run competition - with very respectable scores all round - Orion Publishing Group were the first to lift the Book Aid International Golf Champions trophy, finishing just one point ahead of Sage Publications, who took second place.
Nelson Thornes cleaned up in both the 'Nearest the Pin' and 'Longest Drive' competitions, with spectacular shots from Darren Lamb stealing the show - and both prizes!
The individual competition was won by Greg Mosse of Orion, who pipped Simon Littlewood of The Bookseller to the post by just two points.
Book Aid International would like to say a huge thank you to all of the teams who took part, and to all of our extremely generous sponsors who made the event possible. Particular thanks should go to:
