Mission accomplished! On Sunday 6th December, myself and three fellow santas battled through torrential rain to Greenwich Park for 9am and the start of the 5km Santa Run. We donned our suits and joined over 2,000 fellow Santas for our pre-race warm up. Which was thoroughly surreal to say the least! After some banging dance tunes and vigorous stretching we gathered at the start and I shared some final pieces of motivational wisdom with our team of santas. Many santas warming up
At 10am we were off, and two of our number (Dominic and Keith) decided to try that running thing that a lot of people were doing whilst Ade and I, thanks to our dodgy knees, continued our Santa Saunter as the rain stopped and the sun came out over Greenwich Park. Not long after it was all over! All a bit tired of leg, and sore of knee, but it was a lovely way to spend a morning.
Thanks to everyone who has sponsored us and helped us to raise nearly £500 which will help us to send 250 well needed books to libraries in sub-Saharan Africa....where books can change lives.
