On Thursday 7th March 2013 Book Aid International will be celebrating World Book Day and we’d love your library to get involved and help raise funds for libraries in sub-Saharan Africa.
It costs £2 to select, pack and ship one book to our partners. With your support we’ll be able to fill the book shelves of hundreds of public and community libraries in some of the most remote regions of Africa, where books are a luxury very few can afford.

There are many bookish ways to fundraise at your library – here are a few suggestions…
Display our World Book Day poster in your libary to encourage people to fundraisie! It will also help raise awareness of our work and how the books we send are helping to change lives in sub-Saharan Africa.
Bake for Books: Turn your best loved books into cakes by holding a ‘bake for books’ day! Take a look at our cake recipes for some bookish inspiration.
Library fines day: Why not nominate World Book Day as your chosen day to donate all library fines to Book Aid International.
A big book sale: If your library has a collection of old unused books, then why not hold a big book sale in aid of Book Aid International.
If you choose to hold an event at your library, we’d love to hear your stories, so please get in touch and tell us about your activities – we can also feature your library on our blog, twitter or facebook pages.
To advertise your event, download our what? when? where? poster to get you started.
Whatever you choose to do, we’re here to help! For more information or to receive a fundraising pack in the post, please get in touch or call 020 7733 3577.
