Books and cakes

There are many other ways your school can fundraise for us on World Book Day – here are some of our ‘bookish’ suggestions to make your day all the more merrier…

Bake for Books
Hold a cake sale at school to help raise money for Book Aid International on World Book Day.

Choose from some of our popular recipes below and enjoy the fun of baking (and eating them!).

Banana bread, brownies, chocolate biscuits, fairy cakes, gingerbread characters and lemon cake

To advertise your event download our what? when? where? poster to get you started. You can also take a look at our hints and tips on how to organise your cake sale as well as print our cake labels to price up your scrumptious treats!

You could bake your cakes at home or during your cooking class at school. Sell them at lunch or during other World Book Day activities.

Big book sale
Organise a big book sale at your school – it’s a fun way of working together to help raise money for Book Aid International!

Advertise your sale a couple of weeks in advance by using our what? when? where? poster. You could also appeal for any unwanted books at the same time.

Download our book sale guide to help you collect, categorise and price up your books…and for a unique twist, why not include a Book Aid International bookmark inside every book you sell – we’ve left a blank space for you to write a ‘bookish’ message!
