Book Aid International has been working in Cameroon since 1962.  Since 2009 Book Aid International’s main partner has been Education Information Services International (EISERVI), a recently established local NGO.  In 2012 38,802 publisher-donated books were sent to Cameroon by Book Aid International. These books are distributed to local council and community libraries, primary and secondary schools, and orphanages.

Why we work in Cameroon

Our support for reading and libraries in Cameroon is as vital as ever as now the British Council library and offices have closed in Yaoundé. Cameroon has a relatively high literacy rate and high levels of children and young people in education. However books are expensive and rare.  Book Aid International’s donated books allow people to access knowledge and develop themselves.
