Nigel Newton is the founder and Chief Executive of Bloomsbury Publishing Plc, one of the most successful publishing companies in the UK. As well as publishing a number of new authors, including Khaled Hosseini, and more established authors including Margaret Atwood and Joanna Trollope, Nigel was instrumental in the publication of J.K. Rowling’s “Harry Potter” series which became a worldwide phenomenon.
Nigel is a dual citizen of the USA and the UK. Born and raised in San Francisco he moved to England to read English Literature at Selwyn College, Cambridge. He is also still involved with the management of the family winemaker, Newton Vineyards, located in St.Helena, CA.
Nigel is the first person to hold the office of President of Book Aid International since our founder, Lady Hermione Ranfurly.
