We have around 15 staff who work from the UK and an East Africa Representative based in Nairobi, and are led by our Director, Alison Hubert.  We have two main operational teams and some support roles.

The Programmes team, led by Jill Haynes,  deliver all our programmes in Africa and beyond.  They are responsible for both acquiring and sending all the books that we provide to our partners – at least half a million every year.  They also work with partners on the range of projects that we deliver – including training, refurbishments and book purchasing. More information on specific projects can be found under the relevant country heading in the Where we work section.

The Fundraising & Communications team, led by Jacqui Scott, raise all our income and produce most of our externally focused publications and the website.  We have no grants from the British government and so every penny we need to undertake our work has to be raised from voluntary sources like individuals, grant making trusts, companies and community groups.  For more information about how you could help, take a look at our Get involved pages.
