Getting involved

Donating books is a vital part of the support that we receive from the publishing sector. But we can offer many more ways for you to get involved and help us raise money for our work!

One of the best days on the book trade calendar has to be the Book Aid International Annual Book Trade Golf Day. The 2014 event was held on 9th July at the gorgeous Dulwich and Sydenham Hill Golf Club.  For more information about next year’s Golf Day contact Jenny Hayes.

We have occasional volunteering evenings, and publishing and book trade staff are keen participants in these incredibly useful – and somewhat social – evenings! Email Malin Rosenkvist if you would like to join in.

Donations from individuals within the publishing sector form the core of our income.  Regular gifts are a fabulous and affordable way for anyone in the sector to show their support, and can often be matched by your company. This year, we are making an all-out effort to involve even more staff than ever before by asking them to support our One Million Books appeal: find out more here.

Financial donations from corporate partners are vital to enabling us to develop our programmes, especially those investing in training and development of librarians, ensuring that the books we send are targeted and used effectively, always.  To discuss the role your company could play, contact Malin Rosenkvist by email or telephone 020 7326 5826.

We also have many sponsored challenge events that you can take part in – from 10 km runs, right through to marathons and even climbing Mount Kilimanjaro! For more information get in touch with our events team.

If you are a publisher that wants to support us, but can’t see the right fit for you and your company, please get in touch with Malin Rosenkvist to discuss your ideas.
