Getting involved

Donating books is a vital part of the support that we receive from the publishing sector but there are many more ways for you to get involved and support our work!

Become a Publisher Ambassador!

Are you looking for an opportunity to make a difference? Help spread the word about our work by becoming a Publisher Ambassador! This is a fantastic opportunity to gain new skills, enhance your CV and support our work. Publisher Ambassador activities could include:

  • Organising fundraising activities
  • Giving presentations about our work
  • Organising volunteer visits at our warehouse
  • Supporting us through internal communications

Full support will be provided.

For further information or to apply, please contact Jenny Hayes.

Take part in one of our events

One of the best days on the book trade calendar has to be the Book Aid International Annual Golf Day. This year’s event was held on 4 June at the stunning Dulwich and Sydenham Hill Golf Club in south London.

There’s also our annual Literary Quiz each Autumn where teams go head to head to test their literary prowess. Our most recent event, held in October, was hosted by Nicolette Jones, Children’s Literary Editor at The Sunday Times.

From 10 km runs, right through to marathons and even climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, our supporters do all sorts to raise funds for us! If you’re planning to take part in an event and would like to raise money in support of our work, please contact our events team.

Volunteer in our warehouse

We have occasional volunteering evenings, and publishing and book trade staff are keen participants in these incredibly useful – and somewhat social – evenings! Email Malin Rosenkvist if you would like to join in.

Make a monetary donation

Donations from individuals form the core of our income.  Regular gifts are a fabulous and affordable way to show your support, and can often be matched by your company.

Financial donations from corporate partners are vital to enabling us to develop our work.  To discuss the role your company could play, contact Malin Rosenkvist by email or telephone 020 7326 5826.

If you are a publisher that wants to support us, but can’t see the right fit for you and your company, please get in touch with Malin Rosenkvist to discuss your ideas.
