Getting involved

Donating books is a vital part of the support that we receive from the publishing sector. But we can offer many more ways for you to get involved and help us raise money for our work!

One of the best days on the book trade calendar has to be the Book Aid International Annual Book Trade Golf Day. The 2012 event is to be held on the 31st May at the gorgeous Dulwich and Sydenham Hill Golf Club.  There’ll be the fiercest of battles to wrest the crown from reigning champions Orion!  A team of four is £650 plus VAT and you can bring a second team for a £50 discount. Book and pay before the 1st May to guarantee your place.

We have many sponsored challenge events that you can take part in – from 10 km runs, right through to marathons and even climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. For more information get in touch with Emily Wainwright.

Each month, we have a volunteering evening, and publishing and book trade staff are keen participants in these incredibly useful – and somewhat social – evenings! Email Emily if you would like to join in.

We’ll be enthusiastically taking part in World Book Night again this year, including an event with author of “Hackney, that Rose Red Empire” Iain Sinclair at the gorgeous Canada Water library.  Emily has more information about 2012, and you you can watch the fun we had last year here (with huge thanks to Aubergine Productions).
