How will you #BeTheBook on World Book Day?
World Book Day takes on 2nd March 2017 – that’s just 2 weeks away! Last year schools across the UK raised an astonishing £120,000. That’s enough for to send 60,000 to people across Africa who would otherwise have to go without.
This year, we hope that schools, families and fundraisers across the UK will beat last year’s total and help us send more books and change more lives.
Let’s get social
We can’t wait to showcase the many ways that supporters all across the UK are getting involved in World Book Day, so we’re encouraging everyone to share their adventures using the hashtag #BeTheBook.
Whether you tweet a picture of your dressed up child on the way to school, yourself reading or a book swap at work, we want to know what you’re up to! If you’re not keen on social media, you can also email email@example.com.
The easiest World Book Day Dress up yet
This year features a massive 28 dress up options. We know how busy parents are, so this year’s dress-up selection includes quick to make costumes that can be made using items from around the house as well as how to videos. Find the right costume for you
Don’t fancy fancy dress?
World Book Day is 20 this year, so this year there are 20 ways to #BeTheBook at school that don’t involve dressing up.
From a day of digital detox in a secondary school to asking a primary school Head Teacher to dress up to a book exchange at work, there are lots of ways to get involved. Find a great fundraising idea
What’s your plan?
We’ve already heard about a free story time at a soft play gym, a World Book Day Girl Guiding badge and a whole host of schools that are planning to fundraise and #BeTheBook on 2nd March 2017. If you’re planning to take part you can share your ideas on social media using #BeTheBook or email us with your plans at firstname.lastname@example.org.
